This workshop falls under the project of the Reserve of Intercontinental Biosphere in the Mediterranean (RBIM) which aims at supporting and to emphasize the dimension of the sustainable development of the projects carried out in the zone which contains ecosystems of great national and international ecological value.

 

This action aims at promoting environment al education and sustainable development by the active participation of the schools to consolidate the ecological behaviors and to promote a sustainable management of the natural resources.

The workshop will involved 08 schools of the province of Chefchaouen and will be focused on various subjects such as the “Eco-Schools”, the role of the educational actors in the implementation of the program “Eco-Schools” and the presentation of the results of the study of the aromatic and medicinal plants in the RBIM.

Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa attributes a special interest to these workshops for the promotion of environmental and sustainable development through personal experience and the awakening at the youth’s civic consciousness.

The program “Eco-Schools”, initiated with the international level by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) to which the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection adhered in July 2002, is led to Morocco, in partnership with the Ministry of Education within the framework of a signed partnership convention on April 24th, 2010 during the celebration of the day of the Earth.

This program is based on a participative approach, instigated by the teaching shutter of the teaching team, and proposes five work’s themes: waste management, economy of water, energy saving, food and biodiversity.
