Oued Eddahab Bay : Workshop on sustainable fiching in Oued Ed-Dahab-Lagouira

This workshop was held at the Wilaya of Eddahab-Lagouira Region headquarters and part of an awareness actions already incurred by the Foundation on the site of the Bay of Oued Ed-Dahab since the project launch on July 2011 (Clean Beaches, Eco-school, Young Reporters for the Environment, the Green Key and Eco-business). It served to articulate ways and means to support the development and implementation of a concerted action plan for environmental monitoring of the Bay and its environment.

Experts, partners and local officials have been mobilized to provide participants with their actions. The Department of Fisheries has presented the strategy of marine fisheries and sustainable development of fishery resources. This workshop takes into account recommendations adopted at the meeting of the steering committee of the project on May 8, 2012, and was an opportunity for the Foundation to present its approach and objectives concerning the sustainable development of the Bay of Oued Ed-Dahab.

The National Institute for Fisheries Research has addressed the issue of the conservation of fishery resources and the National Agency for Development of Aquaculture, Aquaculture types for the Oued Ed-Dahab Bay.

The workshop drew meaningful conclusions that need to be discussed and shared with all partners for deployment and enrichment. The meeting ended with a visit to the Oued Ed-Dahab Bay site of.
