The heart of the Foundation's Mission is education for sustainable development. Indeed, many programs are dedicated to children, major influencers of eco-behavior, as per the wishes of HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa.
The Eco-Schools program is one of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) flagship programs. In 2006, the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection introduced the Eco-Schools program in Morocco.
Attracted by the Eco-Schools' potential, Her Royal Highness launched a large-scale pilot phase in 2006, including 8,471 students in 17 elementary schools within nine regions. Today about 2476 schools are enrolled in the program.
Eco-Schools enables students and school stakeholders to build a specific environmental project within their common surrounding environment.
