Princess Lalla Hasnaa received by Hillary Clinton, Washington March 16th, 2010.

Princess Lalla Hasnaa was received, on Tuesday in Washington, by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The pair discussed mainly the celebration, next month in Morocco, of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day.

The Princess is in Washington on the occasion of the announcement of the celebration by the Kingdom of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and the launch of the National Charter for the Environment and Sustainable Development, to which HM King Mohammed VI called in the last State of the Nation Address.

Princess Lalla Hasnaa gave an overview of the achievements and projects of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, chaired by the Princess.

She said the Foundation is moving forward on the path of fulfilling its principal mission, namely raising awareness of players towards sustainable development through pilot demonstration projects, based on partnership agreements involving all stakeholders.

The princess noted that the preservation of the environment is the corner stone of development policies and strategies instituted by the Kingdom.
