‘Eco-Schools’: Organization of the second session of training workshops for the benefit of enrolled schools: from 2 to 23 March 2013

This workshop will focus on theoretical presentations, including the Eco-Schools methodology and the presentation of the program portal, the educators’ role in implementing this program, and a highlight on the partnership between the Ministry of Education and the Mohammed VI for Environmental Protection.

Following these presentations, students will present their school’s experience, during the practical workshops, covering one of the five Eco-Schools themes: the reduction of water, energy, consumption, waste management, biodiversity conservation, and nutrition.

Also, Nestlé Morocco will present its pilot experience in strengthening cognitive skills on the theme of nutrition.

This workshop is part of the will of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, Chairwoman of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection to strengthen environmental awareness and education with regard to environmental issues among children of primary schools.

Eco-Schools is an international program launched by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection after joining the Foundation of Environmental Education in 2002, and part of a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Education signed on April 24, 2010 during the Earth Day celebration.

The methodology of this international program is based on seven easy steps to be followed by all schools, in order to help them reach their goal of being a model of Eco-School, with the involvement of many local community stakeholders, with students having the primary role.
