Octobre 10, 2017 : The Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection presents its pedagogical tools in Dakar

The environmental education and sensitization of the general public, particularly young people, are at the heart of the Foundation’s mission. To capture the attention of the youngest people and sensitize them to the environment, the foundation multiplies for more than fifteen years the innovative experiences, using as often as possible the new information technologies and a resolutely playful tone. Interactive platforms and games on the Internet allow the transmission of knowledge about air quality and climate. School programs as Eco-Schools and Young Reporters for the environment rely as much on a classic pedagogy as on the Internet. The parks and gardens rehabilitated by the Foundation are equipped with educational paths which allow children to learn effortlessly throughout their course.

It is this experience that the foundation will present in Dakar, in particular its twelve years spent in the deployment of the international program “Eco-Schools”, conceived by the Foundation for Environmental Education for children up to the age of 11. Today, more than 68 countries in the world adopted it. In Morocco, it was launched by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the protection of environment in 2006.

The seminar will also allow sharing the experiences and the good practices in education for sustainable environment in Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso.

This seminar is the third organized in 2017 jointly by the ISESCO and the Mohammed VI foundation for Environmental protection, linked by a partnership since 2007. The first two seminars are held in Casablanca in May 2017 for the training program of the young journalists in e-learning of the Foundation, and in Amman (Jordan) in July 2017, around the responsible tourism.
