Through this exhibit, Yann Arthus-Bertrand, the witness photographer, has wished to join the efforts of Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of Environment in reaching a great number of people and raising the Moroccan public’s awareness about the impacts generated by the current modes of consumption, production, natural resources exploitation and the actions undertaken to achieve the sustainable development.
This exhibit comprises 120 photographs, including wonderful pictures of Morocco, remarkable for their esthetic quality together with explanatory legends. These photos are accompanied not only with alarming messages that raise consciousness about the world situation, but also with messages full of hope illustrated through concrete examples stimulating action in this field.
Yann Arthus-Bertrand invites us to a journey, a fruit of a patient inquiry work, started in 1990, representing 4000 hours of helicopter flight and about a hundred of countries visited. These aerial photographs reflect not only the variety of natural environments and life expressions, but also man’s impact as well as his influence on environment.
