The workshop focused on the:

  • Presentation of the Fm6e missions and programs,
  • Eco-Schools program approach
  • Environmental status in Morocco and the program subject focus (water, energy, waste, biodiversity, and food).
  • Partnership implementation between the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Education with a focus on the provincial coordinator role;
  • Testimony of two schools (Banque Populaire School in Tangier and Rokia Bent Rassoul in Salé): Presentation of the program implementation process and the various actions initiated.

Her Royal Highness the Princess Lalla Hasnaa holds a particular interest in actions such as this workshop, as it aims to promote environmental education.

The Eco-Schools program was launched in Morocco in November 2006. Its pilot phase involved 8,471 students and 17 schools.

The program will be gradually expanded. Over the next three years, 690 schools covering 16 district academies will serve as a model.
