May 25, 2017 : E-learning Program Results Workshop at the Kenzi Tower Hotel in Casablanca

Six African journalists received their Certificate of Merit on May 25 in Casablanca for their work under the Young Journalists for the Environment contest. They are:

• Kenzly Mideh from Great Event TV (Ivory Coast), for her Radio Chronicle titled “The strategy chosen for Ivorian agriculture to confront climate change.”

• Lala Kabore-Dera from “qeenmafa.net” (Burkina Faso), for her press article on “The urgent need to protect the Lake Tengrela tourist site.”

• Johnson Gwladys from ECOFIN (Benin), for his press article on “The impact of the hybrid power project on the village of Igbéré.”

• Rym Benarous, from the newspaper Le Temps (Tunisia), for her press article on the “Protection of coastal areas and marine turtles.”

• Ndiol Seck, from the Le Soleil daily paper (Senegal), for his press article on “Coastal erosion.”

• Zran F. Goulyzia, from ‘afrikatv.net’ (Ivory Coast) for his audiovisual report on “The presentation of a natural hydrogen electrification pilot project.”

This award ceremony concludes a regional meeting during which the 3rd edition of the Sustainable Development Capacity Building for Communication Professionals program was evaluated.

This distance training is delivered through an e-learning platform. It enables students to attend free quality education specializing in environment and sustainable development. ISESCO and UNEP provide support for this training system. It aims to provide participants with knowledge essential for understanding the environmental problems of the planet and their regions. The training modules focus on biodiversity, ecosystems, water, and renewable energy; specific problems such as waste and desertification; with climate change as a central theme. A highly qualified committee of experts teaches these courses.
