Under the Environmental Awareness Program undertaken by the Foundation, on Friday June 5, 2009 Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, President of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, had the pleasure of inaugurating the opening of the Art for the Environment exhibition at the Villa des Arts in Rabat.
The finest Moroccan artists, including twenty-one artists, thirteen painters, a sculptor and seven photographers took the public on a trip to nature revisited, reinterpreted and re-enchanted by their talent and creative vision.
Given the importance of this major contribution towards the common cause, Her Royal Highness wished that a large audience could enjoy this event and admire the talent transcended from these interpreters of nature.
For that purpose, the exhibition was relocated to the Villa des Arts in Casablanca
With this event, Her Royal Highness wished to involve national artists and a wide audience in her commitment to awareness of environmental issues.
The Art for the Environment exhibition, through the work of these brilliant artists, invites us to a journey into nature through works that challenge public opinion and encourage us to promote change in behavior.
These different forms of artistic expression, such as paintings, photographs, or sculptures of great quality, are a means to reach a wider audience and give rise to deep emotions.
This poetic feeling should make us commit ourselves to preserving the planet and environmental heritage of our country.
Speaking to our emotions, using their sensitive and unique depiction, writing and language, these artists are able to tell us about a planet whose extraordinary beauty is slipping away and melting before our eyes.
