Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa meets the Japanese Minister of National Education

Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, President of the Mohammed VI Foundation for environmental protection, along with M. Saïd Amzazi, Moroccan minister of national education, vocational training, higher education and scientific research, met Mr. Masahiko SHIBAYAMA, Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan.

Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa came over and inquired about the Japanese educational institutions’ pedagogy in term of education for sustainable development (ESD) and examining with the Japanese minister of national education the possibilities developing in joint cooperationpedagogical tools for the young people of Morocco such as software applications and games.

Japanese educational institutions are for most of them taking part in the network of UNESCO associated schools and have integrated sustainable development in the curricula.

Cooperation for pedagogical tools will be based, for the Moroccan side, on the GENIE directorate (Information and Communication technologies generalization for education in Morocco) of the ministry of national education.

This cooperation calls also for twinning operations between Moroccan and Japanese schools, and the establishment of a voluntary exchange program of students and teachers.

As a reminder, while traveling to Nagoya in 2014 for the launching of the second decade of education for sustainable development of UNESCO as a guest of honor, Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa have met the former minister of national education, Mr. Hakubun Shimomura.
