The jury of the 13th Young reporters for the environment contest deliberated on the 26 and 27th of March, at the headquarters of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection the results of the YRE contest. The jury awarded four written reports from the written reporter category and six photographs from the photograph category.
A number of 1282 students supervised by 641 professors participated to the 13th edition and have sent 217 written reporters and 410 photographs. This year, the organizers have suggested working on “renewable energies sources, pillar of sustainable development”theme.
The participants, supervised by their professors who we can never thank them enough for their dedication, have shown curiosity, as the students of the school unit of the BanquePopulairefrom Assilah (initiative price), whoexamined the garbage dump of their city and the health and pollution issues of the groundwater.
The high school students of Ibn Taher, in Errachidia, who won the approach award for their investigation on the possibility of solar farm in their city, like the Ouarzazate one. They did not hesitated to open the door of ONEE, the meteorological weather station, a researcher, an elected local and even…the Minister of energy and mines by telephone interview.
The High school students of Abdelkrim El Khattabi inNador went to an agricultural property of a farmer named uncle Ammar, for a convincing written report on the solar pumping installation benefits in the farm. For this report, that led them to compare solar energy to the other sources of energy, they have been awarded the jury price.
Last but not least, for the written report category, the theme price was discerned to Abdelaziz MezianeBelfqihHigh school ofMoulayYaacoub, for their report on the solar energy discovery by the inhabitants of douarOuledJamaafollowing its setting up within the mosque, installation that facilitated their lifestyles and had positive impacts such as reducing the school drop-out.
For the Photograph category, the awards have been discerned to different academies, for pictures illustrating dryness, pollution, the countryside, storks, and renewable energies.
The winners and their supervisors will receiveprices as well as digital tablets, which will be distributed in provincial and regional ceremonies, occasion to share their pride with parents and professors.
