HER ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCESS LALLA HASNAA delivered on this occasion a speech focusing on the establishment of permanent evaluation and monitoring of eco-epidemiological health risks associated with air pollution in urban areas. Her Royal Highness also prompted economic stakeholders to integrate consideration of the environmental aspect into their activities.
The signing of agreements dealt with:

  • Launch of the eco-epidemiological study with the aim of assessing the effects of air pollution on the health of the population in the region of Greater Casablanca in cooperation with the Foundation, the Ministry of Health, the State Secretariat for Water and Environment and the Wilaya of the Greater Casablanca. The results and the model developed will be gradually extended to all cities of the Kingdom.
  • The second agreement signed by the Fondation Mohammed VI pour la Protection de l’Environnement and CGEM implements the “Eco-Business” Program. It aims to place the whole economic sector in a sustainable development approach that will include actions such as reduction of CO2 emissions into the air, optimization of waste management, preservation and reduction of natural resources and the widespread use of “eco-gestures.”

The signing ceremony was preceded by a visit by Her Royal Highness at the headquarters of the National Meteorology Directorate, during which explanations about monitoring of the National Air Quality were presented to Her Royal Highness.
