On this occasion, HER ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCESS LALLA HASNAA recalled the main activities undertaken by the Foundation Mohammed VI since the inception of the program in March 2007. Among these programs was the launch of the “Eco Schools” and “Green Key” programs for which small workshops were organized.

Her Royal Highness also briefed the participants on the ongoing reflection on the repositioning of the oases eco-museum project slated to be a flagship endeavor at the international level.

HER ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCESS LALLA HASNAA thanked the partners and the services of the Wilaya and the City and the National Promotion for their strong involvement in this program that made possible in particular the planting of 210,000 plants, representing approximately 50% of the projected 430,000 to be planted over a 10 year period.

Mr. Mounir CHRAIBI, Wali of the Region of Marrakech Tensift Haouz, presented the status in the implementation of activities undertaken in the framework of safeguarding and developing the palm grove, in particular the substantial contribution of the Wilaya and Local government operations concerning planting and restocking of  palm trees.

Mr Mohamed CHAIBI, President of the association “Observatoire de la Palmeraie de Marrakech” outlined the main actions and projects of the association, in particular the initiation of a local community network to sustain the endeavors of the Safeguarding and Development of the Marrakech Palm Grove Program.
