As part of its awareness-raising activities carried out throughout the school year, the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, through its academic entity, the Hassan II International Center for Environmental Training, organized educational visits during the Artexplora Festival, which took place in Rabat from October 11 to 17, 2024. These actions, conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, aim to raise awareness among young people about the importance of environmental protection by exposing them to cultural and innovative initiatives.
This large-scale event, combining art, innovation, and environmental protection, benefited 50 young participants and their supervisors from the two sustainable development education programs run by the Foundation, Eco-Schools and Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE).
Participants, both young and old, had the unique opportunity to experience a world-first aboard the museum-ship, where they explored a floating art gallery. In addition to this discovery, they visited a digital exhibition created in partnership with the Louvre Museum, where they admired iconic works such as the Mona Lisa and other treasures of world art. They were also immersed in a sound experience offered by the Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music (IRCAM), allowing them to listen to the sounds of the ocean depths, whale songs, and other fish, as well as the gentle lapping of the waves.
These visits were enriched by a creative workshop, led by a cultural mediator, aimed at raising young people’s awareness of the importance of art and environmental protection.
Organized for the benefit of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra and Casablanca-Settat Regional Academies of Education and Training, these activities reflect the Foundation and its Center’s commitment to promoting sustainable development education through concrete and inspiring experiences.
