Just like the previous editions, the awarded works have been sent to Paris, to the Headquarters of the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) YRE International coordinator, in order to make them participate with the other secondary school students from the FEE member states.
Thus, Morocco obtained the energy prize and the super best prize for young reporters for environment 2005, as a reward for the written report entitled : Environment at the pottery complex: between disaster and hope presented by the secondary students from Lamrani private secondary school, from the Marrakech-Tensift-El Haouz Academy. The Second international prize for the photo competition has been granted to Sidi Daoud secondary school from Ouarzazate, Souss-Massa-Daraa Academy.
Let’s remind that the Young Reporters for Environment has been led within the framework of a strategic partnership between Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of Environment and the National Education Ministry, and it is intended for secondary school students, who are in charge of making investigations, under the supervision of their teachers, about problems related to environment in their region and informing the large public.
The reports achieved dealt with six important themes : agriculture, city, coast, waste, water and energy. In order to handle this project in its international dimension, Morocco (through Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of Environment) has adhered to the FEE in July 2002, as the second non European country after South Africa.
