WEEC 2013: 7th World Congress on Environmental Education Marrakech – Morocco

WEEC 2013: 7th World Congress on Environmental Education Marrakech – Morocco

Thanks to a process initiated by the government, Morocco encourages a collective awareness of environmental issues to inspire daily behavioral changes in Moroccan citizens.

This year’s WEEC will shine a spotlight on Morocco, the first Arab-Muslim country to host this Congress, and will allow participants to discover a rapidly evolving country.

The main theme of this event is entitled:

Environmental Education in Cities and Rural Areas: Seeking Greater Harmony

The theme evokes an important issue in Morocco as in many other countries where there has been a massive rural exodus to urban areas. This will be increasingly exacerbated by climate change.

During the congress, various issues affecting environmental education will also be addressed through a dozen different subjects. In order to facilitate these subjects, you are invited to submit your presentations, posters, workshops, roundtables and side events for consideration before October 31, 2012. It is possible to submit proposals in Arabic, French or English. A Scientific Committee will evaluate the various proposals. This committee will be composed of national and international experts and Moroccan scientists.

During this congress, we will discover which country will host the 8th WEEC event in 2015. Many applications from Latin America, Asia and Europe, have been submitted, reflecting the growing interest in this international event.

We hope that you can attend. Thank you for your cooperation and participation!
