120 high schools from different regional academies and enrolled in the program for the 2012-2013 school year will benefit from this training workshop. This workshops are part of the implementation of the recommendations from the speech of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa during the ceremony of 10 years of the program YRE and from the participatory forum under the theme: “Education and Awareness for Responsible Consumption: My Reason for Action.”

This meeting regrouped together winners of the JRE since its launch there is ten years, teachers, media representatives and civil society, professional associations and representatives of private and public sectors.

The YRE training workshops have as main objectives to strengthen and develop skills of the actors concerned by the program, amongst high schools students and their professors, to ensure that they will spread of the reality of the environmental issues.

During these training workshops, a highlight will be done on the exchange of environmentally-friendly practices and the reinforcement of networking actions among actors concerned by the YRE program.

The training workshops will be also an opportunity for provincial and regional coordinators, as well as animator of environmental clubs, and high schools students from the different regions to present cases of success stories.

The new national committee of the YRE program has been reconstituted by professional journalists from the print, audio-visual and electronic media, a representative from the national ministry of education, environmental experts, and former YRE member. The national committee will have as main role to accompany high schools students’ trough theoretical and practical means.

As a reminder, the YRE program is an international program launched by the Foundation, after joining the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) in July 2002, and a partnership convention between the Foundation and the Ministry of National Education during the commemoration of the 10 years of YRE on April 28, 2012 at the National Library of Morocco in Rabat.
