HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa, chairwoman of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environment Protection, and Coast Ambassador, a title awarded to Her Royal Highness by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), visited, on Monday, the “Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre”.
Upon her arrival, Her Royal Highness was greeted by Dr. John Nightingale, president and CEO of the “Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Center,” and by Cathy Imrie, senior vice-president and chief financial officer.
On this occasion, HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa visited the Wet Lab Classroom and the room dedicated to providing training and awareness-raising workshops to children on environmental education and the protection of marine biodiversity.
Afterwards, HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa held a working session notably with Dr. John Nightingale and James Bartram, vice-president, in charge of the Centre’s educational program, on means to strengthen cooperation between the “Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Center” and the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environment Protection.
Dr. John Nightingale and James Bartram also presented to Her Royal Highness the conservation, education and research initiatives conducted by the Vancouver Center, Canada’s largest aquarium and the fifth in North America.
