Awareness workshop on Clean Beaches program and the Educational Circuit project in Dakhla

Awareness workshop on Clean Beaches program and the Educational Circuit project in Dakhla

In order to upgrade the beaches and preserve the wealth of features and wetlands including the Oued Eddahab Bay, the workshop helps educate local people about the interactions between beach management and preserving wetlands by promoting good environmental practices.

This event will also be an opportunity to discuss the conditions necessary for the sustainable management of beaches and wetlands and consolidate the efforts of managers and stakeholders involved. It will also present the way to improve management, analysis and display of bathing water quality results; strengthen coordination between the various stakeholders; and the development of individual and collective, responsible ethics for the conservation and management of beaches and coastline. Beach management in the Dakhla province under the Clean Beaches program and their Blue Flag labeling will be presented as an example.

Also plans for an educational circuit will be launched in the region. It is a convivial place for visitors to learn and gain awareness in a fun way on major environmental issues and become familiar with various conservation actions for our environment.

The workshop will also address the challenge set out at the Palais Congress in Marrakech at the end of the 7th World Environmental Education Congress (WEEC), co-organized by the Foundation from June 9 to 14, 2013. In order to consolidate the achievements of the subjects discussed at this workshop, participants will develop different recommendations and establish an action plan.
