Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and effective presidency of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, Chairwoman of Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, the 7th World Environmental Education Congress starts today, Sunday 9 June 2013 until the 14th in Marrakech.

This important world event will make of the Ochre Red City of Marrakech, the world capital of environmental education for six days. Marrakech will be the destination of many distinguished experts, researchers, scientists, thinkers and philosophers from the five continents. as to the measures taken by the Kingdom of Morocco In an opinion poll, Marrakech inhabitants expressed their full satisfaction regarding the environmental issue since the 70’s of last century and the hosting of this important world conference is an evidence.

They hope that the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech turns to a real hive of activity for launching initiatives, both individual and collective, in order to instill the values and principles of environmental education in youth. The citizens and their elected representatives, executives, housewives, dustmen, pupils and students, tourists and professionals, all agree that this Congress will play an important role in incorporating the environmental values in the educational curricula and encouraging positive attitudes and behaviour towards protecting nature.
