As part of its ongoing awareness efforts, the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection organized a World Water Day 2025 awareness event on Wednesday, March 26, at the Sidi Abdellah Eco-School in Salé, a Green Pavilion certified school. This initiative allowed eco-school students to engage in interactive workshops, exploring key issues related to water resource management and conservation.
Using tailored educational tools, such as a permaculture game, students discovered the importance of responsible water usage, the connection between sustainable farming practices and water conservation, and eco-friendly actions they can take in their daily lives.
Furthermore, field visits were conducted across 11 regions of the Kingdom, offering participants the chance to explore the facilities of the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE). These visits provided an in-depth look at the various stages of the water cycle, including treatment, desalination, demineralization, and purification plants. Over 200 eco-school students gained valuable knowledge about the technical solutions in place to ensure sustainable water management.
Through this national effort, the Foundation reaffirms its commitment to environmental education and raising awareness among the younger generation about the critical water-related challenges facing our future.
