This workshop will focus on theoretical presentations, including the Eco-Schools methodology and the presentation of its portal, highlighting the partnership between the Ministry of Education and the Mohammed VI for the Environmental Protection, and the educators’ role in implementing this program.
Following the presentations, students will present their school’s experience, during the practical workshops, covering one of the five Eco-Schools themes: the reduction of water and energy consumption, good waste management, biodiversity conservation, and nutrition.
This workshop is part of the will of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, Chairwoman of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection to strengthen environmental awareness and education within children of primary schools with regard to environmental issues.
Eco-Schools is an international program launched by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection after joining the Foundation of Environmental Education in 2002, and as part of a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Education signed on April 24, 2010 during the Earth Day celebration.
The methodology of this international program is based on seven easy steps to be followed by all schools, in order to help them reach their goal of being a model Eco-School, with the involvement of many local community stakeholders, with students having the primary role.
